Are we there yet?
So, just as in every other aspect of life, we as artists and ArtWorks are challenged with creating a new normal. How can we be together without being together? How as ArtWorks will we maintain and build our sense of community with one another and continue our outreach as artists in our communities?
We have an idea. We thought it would be fun for ArtWorks to do some artwork “together”, share our work with one another, and interact by commenting on the work we do. This is not limited to ArtWorks members. Anyone can contribute. Here's how it works:
On Thursdays Merry or Cat will post a new creative prompt on this page. (Feel free to contribute ideas.)
We will try to keep them as open ended as possible so that they can be completed in a variety of ways and with materials you have available. Feel free to interpret or modify them to suit your creative vision.
Some prompts might not interest you. However, if it ignites a creative spark, get busy.
When you're finished, photograph or scan your work, add a blurb if it needs explanation, and send it to Cat who will post them to this page.
We have two goals for this page--to encourge creativity and to create interaction.
Check here often to view the work and please comment. We are all adjusting to fewer social interactions. While reading what someone says isn't the same as discussing your work with them, we all need encouragement and feedback to move us forward.
