This past year our community lost an encourager, supporter, painter, and all-round creative doer.
Known to most of us as “Buzz,” this art lover inspired many along their creative journeys. Now, just as Buzz encouraged so many of us, we’d like to pass it along and so we are setting up a fund we are calling “Creating Buzz” to encourage, promote and spread the word that creativity is not just superfluous fluff, it is an authentic way of living. We especially want to encourage our young creators! Help Make it Happen:

Our 2020 BUZZ CAMP! - a Mini Art Camp and Show
WE'RE CREATING BUZZ!
What is this project? This is a Free mini-art camp and show to be held this coming winter. The project is part of ArtWorks’ goal to promote and encourage the creative energy of our community’s youth. The theme for the project is "50 Views From Our Town” with an ambitious goal of showing 50 finished works of art. Students are asked to look around the community and paint, draw or print their impressions. Subjects may include landscapes, buildings, people, pets, activities, still life images, whatever they see that represents this community. Who is this for? Students of middle school and high school age. Instructors are current and former art teachers. Where? Kane Community Center, Fraley Street, Kane When? Now: Registration begins now. Creating Buzz Registration February 15, 2020, 10am to 2pm: The half-day mini art camp, students receive instruction March 7, 2020: The Show is up for display with a reception for the public Why? We want to encourage our young citizens to explore their creative side! How? 1. Register. There is no charge for this project however registration required so that supplies can be ordered. 2. Attend the mini-art camp. You will receive all needed supplies 3. Complete your artwork. You will have approximately one month to complete your drawings or paintings at home 4. Submit your Finished artwork. You will be given time/place for submissions. 5. Attend the show with your friends and family! This project is made possible through a grant from the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts for a in conjunction with the Elk County Council on the Arts. ArtWorks is honoring the encouragement of former member ‘Buzz’ Anderson. Buzz was an artist and an art supporter in the community. A “Buzz” fund has been created at ArtWorks to continue to provide a creative outlet to our young artists.
